This is why It Gets Better

This was very inspiring. I, too, am transgendered to an extent. I particularly liked in 4/9, when Mr. Andrews calmly but very effectively educated Mr. Lavy. My surroundings constantly bash members of our government, and it's so refreshing to know how intelligent at least some of them are.

This hearing was music to my ears. I can't stop smiling thinking that the goverment that my father always told me was the best in the world, may soon protect my rights as a person, regaurdless of my GID.
Thank you so much for all you have done for us all, and everything your working on as far as stopping discrimination in this contry.

Col. Schroer's answer brought tears to my eyes. I have learned from personal experience that if trans-folks don't "watch each other's backs", then who the hell will? My own employment experience also mirrors that of Ms. Taraboletti, only without the benefit of a 401K "safety net", and after over a year of fruitless job searching, if I don't find full-time employment soon, I will soon join the ranks of the homeless. Will anti-discrimination be a "silver bullet"? No, but it's a good start.
