  • I am not 100% positive but I believe a "bolt" was inserted into the slab and the post sat on top of it. I do know that a strong adhesive/caulk (the same one used to stack the logs) was applied to the cement before setting the post and an additional strip was added around the post after setting to prevent moisture from getting under the post and causing it to rot. They have been in place since Jan 08 and I have not had any problems.
