  • I just saw an article on the chambers website that was about america needing to remove work visa cap because there arent enough skilled workers in america

  • I'm going to put this into my song

  • Just as we are dissatisfied by a turncoat liar! If Sen. Specter wanted to change parties, fine. But quit and run for the party you want. Don't poop on the heads of all of those who voted for you for another party with other policies which you endorsed to get elected. Talk about a snake in the grass.OOPS don't want to insult the snakes!

The unions stole the car companies, now they want to steal private votes! This is all ANTI AMERICAN. And it Stinks!

  • What a jerk...guess he is getting his campaign contributions from the Unions now that he is a Democrat...or did it start before the "switch". Too bad he doesn't care about the 'secret' ballot in the USA. REELECT NO ONE....Vote the incumbents out!

  • Nice...I guess he is getting his campaign contributions from the UNIONS just fine now that he is a DEMOCRAT. Too bad he doesn't seem to care about the "secret" vote in the USA... REELECT NO ONE! Vote the incumbents out!

  • the union thugocracy is out of control with their pretty-boy puppet president. Powermad unions destroy all they touch: philadelphia, detroit, california, england in the 70's, US steel, GM, chrysler, Pan Am.

  • he has not flipflopped yet, you are reading too much into it. I hope he hasn't but if we keep cutting him out hell have nothing left to do but completely leave

  • If the workers are very productive but aren't being paid well for their work, I understand that. But unionizing just so you can mooch off the employer and force him to pay you a pension and free healthcare, rather than having to get it yourself or worry about it, seems very lazy and irresponsible to me. I mean, do you REALLY need free health care with a job making 60 grand? Surely you can pay for good health insurance with that. Or save into a mutual fund or something of that nature.

  • Wow! Check out Arlen Specter flip-flopping on EFCA about a month or 2 after he goes Democrat. Who didn't see that coming? *eyeroll*

And plus, what are unions for nowadays? Do workers need safer workplaces, 40-hour work week, etc.? Not really. That's all codified into law, and employers have an interest in making sure workers remain healthy and able to work and not jump to the other guy or sue.

Workers just use unions as an excuse for fringe benefits, rather than getting a higher-pay job.

  • My question is: why are there powerful, fatcat union bosses in the first place? I mean, if unions REALLY want to make the workplace more democratic and fair, wouldn't it be more sensible for union bosses to only have a little power and let the remainder lie with the union members? That's just my 2 cents. The fact that there's these fatcat bosses just shows that they care more about power than workers. Workers are just their pawns for more money and control.
