This video shows some features of Enlightenment DR17 with Elive,a Debian Etch powered with Enlightenment 16 & DR17.Is made from the live cd.The specs of the box are:
cpu: Amd Athlon Xp 2000+ 1,67 GHz
ram: 256MB
gpu: Nvidia Geforce 2 Gts (64MB)
because it was made from the live cd,expect even more speed and eye candy.

This afternoon i tryed out Elive on my MacBook and it was amazing. I would recomend it to anyone. Super speedy, super pretty.

I have running this desktop in a PC K6II 450 Mhz with 128MB RAM, 3dfx Voodoo Banshee 16MB, and runs smoothly :D

well, it's good but I can't see something new things that other 3d desktop can't do. I'm talking not only about compiz/beryl but also Matisse and so on... Good, but nothing new! ;)

I've loved enlightenment for years, DR16 and DR17 but what the fuck is up with the music? What is that supposed to accomplish?

it is for viewing pleasure.
if you don't find it of your pleasure, you know, they put a mute button on youtube just for the case. ;)
e16 is no longer a DR, however.

enlightenment isn't a 3d desktop.check out the specs of the box:any 3d DE simply won't run.enlightenment does,and it does pretty well.you don't need any particular gpu for e17.and his speed is comparable to fluxbox.give it a try.
