what inspired Plastic Doll song?

One of my bandmates had me listen to his funky sounding beat he'd put together and I instantly flashed back to the RED LIGHT DISTRICT in Washington DC.. It's one of the outrageous districts on Earth just miles from the White House!!! ..Block after Block after Block of every type of prostitute you can imagine; fat, skinny, pretty, ugly, male, female, he-she's, hugh asses, skinny asses...white, white skin..black, black skin..It's un-fucking believeable..and my next mental picture after that short film flashed in my mind's eye was the mind-boggling back of THE NEW TIMES..all the different 'ESCORTS' all the blatant prostitution openly advertised...My mind shouting...I THOUGHT PROSTITUTION WAS ILLEGAL?? I'm not against it, but i thought there were laws. So what the hell...let's have some fun with these characters....The song is from the point-of-view (POV) of a sexy-ass Streetwalker interchanging with the POV of a grimy, desperate John on the hunt for some ass! haaaa...

how long did this track take to produce?

This was a quickie..haaaaa..This particular track almost wrote itself..some tracks are a process...this one was not. Not to mention, I had just finished reading FRANK SINATRA'S BIO (one of the most notorious playboy-pussy hounds Hollywood's ever known) and I must have been impressed at some level by all the famous romping. So all that Sinatra whoring logged into my brain and found a creative outlet in this song.

any special significance in the song you'd like to point out?

I make a reference to a Famous Sinatra film in the song...Test your knowledge of Sinatra movies. p.s. I later told Eric..'I'm hearing a 70's style guitar solo in there..let's open up 16 measures at least towards the end...and jam!" So listen for that, it's really quite funny..and I particularly love Irygirls approach..I've luv the chords she plays (keyboard) it's kinda reminiscent of the keyboard in Madonna's Erotica which I looooove.

what does Plastic Doll song mean to you?

It shows that you can have pride and have fun while you're working.... no matter what line of work you're in. haaaaaaaaaaa....and I enjoy the attitude of the streetwalker in the song..she is strong, hot and in control! She's a business woman. haaaaaa.
