Being the fangirl that I am of many things, particularly these certain fandoms, I knew it was inevitable that I was going to use this piece 'cause how epic is it? So, I decided to make a multifandom video with the theme of journey and hope because I've noticed that these films do generally have to do with both.
In Interview with the Vampire, Louis goes through more of a metaphysical and ethical journey, much like the rest of the characters of The Vampire Chronicles, so his journey is more of a journey within himself.
Sarah's journey in Labyrinth is obvious. She goes through a journey through the labyrinth to rescue her baby brother, but it's also a journey towards maturity and I think Jareth represents the darker side to her maturity in a way.
Christine and Erik's journey, much like Louis', is more ethical. I think that throughout the story, whichever version you prefer, shows the journey of Christine becoming a woman and Erik becoming human.
Dracula's journey, in Bram Stoker's Dracula, is quite clear. I really love this version of the story because it actually gives Dracula a reason for being what he is in the story and in this video, I wanted to show that that reason was his journey to find Mina.
Throughout the Gemma Doyle Trilogy, Gemma, like Sarah, grows up and I always picture her growing older through the three books. In the first book, she's a girl, in the second, she's an adolescent and in the third, she's a woman.
Dustfinger's my favorite character in the Inkworld trilogy and there's something really strong about the fact that he knows that going back home will be the death of him, but he still wants to go back anyway because he loves his family.
Liliana from Snow White: A Tale of Terror goes through the journey not just of maturity, but generally being a stronger woman.
I'm finally reading Lord of the Rings and am falling in love, so I decided to express the journey to light within the fellowship because what I love most about the trilogy is that there's so much hope in it, which I can't help but remain touched by.
But enough of my nattering. Enjoy the video!
