Its not racist if the test applies to all people and asks basic questions like, who is the vice president, who is the speaker of the house, who holds the majority in the senate, who holds the majority in the house, who is your governor, etc. That is the kind of test I support. No one is supporting having tests like those in the 100 years following the civil war that existed simply to stop non whites from voting.

I would actually be for a literacy test. But one that is simple like read "the little engine that could" The shit alabama had was hilarious and absurd. I bet the president cant even answer those questions. There are still a lot of anti-democratic ppl in USA, and by democratic I mean the system, not the party. But I found remarkable what president Johnson says here. I think he's not very charismatic, but I think, by what I know, one of the best presidents that USA ever had. Low profile, great ideas, that would be my description of Lyndon Johnson.

Failin' Palin FAILED the "Literacy Test" TWICE. Once with Charles Gibson and the second time with Katie Couric. By that token, she shouldn't've been even allowed to vote, let aside run for VP.

As a foriegner watching this clip from here in Egypt and listening to the speech of Tom Tancredo calling for LITERACY TEST, I ask myself, "Is this really America? The United States Of America?" I love the US but I'm deeply saddened to see this side of hers. And Rachel I love you. Great job!
