I guess I could not see any indication that the offensive player initiated the contact. I was baffled by the announcers because this just looked like a thousand plays I've seen where the offensive player is fouled going to the basket.

@oldaardvark So what's does he's taking a shot have to do with anything? You cannot initiate contact whether your taking a shot or not, if you initiate contact with a defender while shooting it is an offensive foul. Now on this play that's what the announcers thought they saw the first time and when they replayed it again they saw the foul which should have been called on the defensive player.

im not saying it wasnt a foul, but that is a hard call to make from that angle. from the replay tho, there is no question that he got fouled.
