  • 2) To read Burke talk about wrestling with his consciensce, you would think politicians were immune to greed, stupidity and indeed, total indifference. Clearly not so.

  • 1) Burke wrote this, as I remember it, having secured a position in Parliament, for.. was it Bristol and Bath? He used this comment, to explain why he would vote in parliament according to his principles, rather than the wishes of his voters. on the subsequent election, he lost his seat, so the workings of democracy resolved this particular difference of opinions. 

  • Ha, that's funny and kind of true about the no page limit, you will need it! Although, that must confirm it was a great question, eh?

    You should totally do it and then we'll ask Prof. Gander to make time-lapse videos of himself reading your paper and commenting. :)

  • Should I mail my answer to your question to your office? and double space, 12 font? I do ask one thing, no page limit.
