The policy of building up the border in highly crossed areas has pushed immigrants to even more brutal territory, and while those who cross are neither saints nor demons, the fact is that nearly 600 (and that's who is found) people a year die largely trying to feed themselves or their family- or reunite with their family. You can dehumanize them and dismiss the "tear jerking stories", but that is a dangrous mindset. You condemn, but do you listen? I've actaully spoken to a lot of those who cross

I'm sorry it isn't black and white but illegal immigration is very complex which is why I am neutral in this problem

You and several Americans need to realize that the reason they are coming can also be attributed and tied to American intervention in these countries. When it comes to Mexico you need to remember the Mexican Revolution and America's role. The Mex Rev was the birth of the PRI party which basically robbed Mexico blind. America was very pro-govt. and even helped in hunting Mexican revolutionaries.

Well we need to analyze the history of Latin America and America's policies towards it. It is rooted in the Monroe doctrine, Manifest Destiny, colonialism, and the "America's Backyard" way of thinking. You need to remember that places like Guatemala and El Salvador where the US govt. actually played a significant role in shaping those countries. Example democratically elected Jacobo Arbenz was ousted by the CIA in the 50s plunging that country into an almost half century civil war
