@ryanmyal: the helix was targeting paulo, not the hexmage. If he does not counter, he dies to damage.
-
Why couldn't Paulo, just sacrifice his Vampire Hexmage in response to the lightning helix then counter the path?
-
@torchSpxx Amen to that logic :D
-
This is so lame.. a bunch of combo decks. I just got done watching the Kyoto PT and it was 5cc and BW Tokens and Kithkin etc.. Hypergenesis and Dark Depths? boring :(

Kibler is probably my favorite pro-tour player unless I find another that I like more.
-
Shoulda called "Path to Exile" with Pithing Needle.
Oh wait...
-
(cont.) then they do a terrible attack and walk right into your trick or into a bad block. kibler is taking advantage of hunter burtons amatuer status by making him feel comfortable
-
no it is his strat. chapin has discussed this before. it is a technique called "building rapport" it is the easiest 'jedi mind trick' to employ, but one of the hardest to actually learn. It is very effective and basically you talk a lot and make your oponent feel comfortable and laugh etc... you make them your friend when you actually have evil plans for them. like name spells you think they will play and name plays they are making before they do them, like "beats me for 5?" *picks up pen*
-
@StanGrunder or he could just be a particularly friendly person . =o

When Ikeda argues that he can't draw the Ghost Quarter, he can still draw Knight of the Reliquary and Tutor for it. So still a good play by Paulo, no surprise there.
Fun listening to Kibler in the background. Funny guy...
