Bart Smith walked and photographed the Florida Trail in 2002. He returned several times to photograph the trail more extensively for a book which was published by Westcliffe Publishers in 2003. Sandra Friend, an accomplished author of many books related to Florida wrote the text for the book. The book, titled Along the Florida Trail is still available for purchase at the Florida Trail Association website and book store.
The music was produced by Gordon Johnson.
This video was edited by Bart Smith and Image Pathways LLC.
The Civil War sequence was photographed at the annual reenactment of The Battle of Olustee which occurs at Olustee State Park along the Florida Trail.
The Florida Trail is 1,300 miles in length and is one of the many treasures of the great State of Florida.
thank so much for sharing this great view of the real florida that i love.just got some ft maps and plan on starting my hike at olustee toward the panhandle. 320 views that should be 320,000 you will get there.

Wow, this photo series is amazing and very inspiring. I am from Denmark and I am considering walking part of The Florida Trail next year. I assume that the series is composed so that it follows the route beginning in the South. Is that correct?

I must agree with the comment that the Civil War segment was very moving.

Hi,
I'm compiling clips of places in Florida that would be considered worth going to, and cannot actually travel here, thought I do want to go again. Since I never took video last time, I was wondering if I would be able to use this? Credit would of course be given. :D
Thanks

Bart, My personal favorite video. Love it! Civil war shots brought a tear to my eyes! Excellent choice and timing of the music. Overall reminds me of back home - someplace far from here. Tim
