Same issue on my Acer Extensa 5630-6561. Did what you suggested except that I didn't like the idea of something that might catch fire from the heat inside my laptop so I cut a strip off a credit card and folded it into the size I needed instead of using a wad of paper. Same effect - problem solved in ten seconds. Amazing! The new laptop I had purchased is going back.You just saved me over $400. Thanks.

yes we solved this on one m/c the same solution
that m/c got the screen changed and cable changed but flickers also, while the piece of paper pressing the cable solved

sort if happen to mine acer extensa 5630 too~ monitor flickers when i move the panel...

I will try this if I get a white screen again, but I'm not quite sure how I going to open that top (I have Acer 5630G which is somehow looks more massive)

@librano the problem was that when you power on you get a white screen no output and sometimes when you are working it goes white
please google "white screen of death"

Thanks Man, I sent my laptop back under warranty, and got it back after 2months!!!!! with a note saying there was no problem, have put up with this for a year, was about to put my fist through the screen,,, thank god I found this.

@oceansst I'm happy to read this
I want to note that we guess the root cause to be that the cable of microphone is twisted with the cables of the screen and this makes a field problem
