Pitbulls are TERRIERS....American Bulldog are MOLOSSERS(Mastiff)...In fact, AB dogs love children.I own one and after having raised Rotties,GSP,Doberman and AmStaff(pitbulls), have to say that there are not better breed of dogs that get along well with kids than the AB. However,must remember that ANY dog potentially can attack people or children.Thus NEVER we leave kids unattended playing with dogs.All dogs got to be socialize with people and another dogs while still are puppies.
