And those who compare classical music of any form with pop or rock or hip hop, I can only pity them. Classical music is what it is - classical. It is copy book music. Most pop and rock are extempore with elements of the basic classical music. Nothing to demean the light music of different genre - pop, rock, hip hop, jazz, folk or a combination of either of them. Some rock music are sublime like that of Pink Floyd or Jethro Tull or Led Zep or Beatles or ELP or Stones or Doors. Can't compare.

Many so called great young singers today claim to sing this and that...too much technicality at the expense of bhaavam & aesthetics of a krithi... good proportions make the difference between an ordinary singer & a great singer...
