Loudest jet on the planet, followed by the F-111 (the B-1 is basically a supersized F-111 - I've heard flies like one too from pilots who flew both). I was a nav on tankers at Dyess AFB and I remember that when we'd hold short for the Bones to launch first, our 200,000-pound jet would shudder and vibrate when they pushed it up to afterburner. Night launches were great, the four blue flames made it look like something out of Star Wars as they climbed into the sky. Very cool.

Not nearly as loud as the XF-84H Thunderscreech... Loudest prop plane design on the planet, and I believe the fastest (though it was never flown) The propeller blade tips were going over Mach at idle speed, so it was more or less a continuous sonic boom. You could even see air radiating in waves from it- real sci-fi looking shit. Gave a lot of people nausea and headaches, and the sonic booms caused a continuous shock wave to the sides of the plane that WOULD throw your ass to the ground! :P
