The West Orange High School Marching Band, performing their 2009 show "Themes and Variations" at the USSBA New Jersey State Championships.

West Orange took 1st place with a score of 94.300.
Winning the caption awards for:
Best Visual Effect, Best Overall Effect, Best Percussion, and Best Color Guard.

I'm from Southington High School...I really do like your drill a lot!!!...very clean, and few mistakes that could be seen easily were done...From a more musical standpoint, compared to our band at least, it was very weak...How come i could barely here high brass, let alone low brass...Too much woodwinds throughout the show!...Brass you need to really improve also!!!...Should you have won idk?!?....But very nice job guys...It must've been hard to perfect the drill as well as you did...

@evetsp10 Thanks evestp10. the drill was definetly a great highlight of the show. Especially the ending drill.. that took ALOT of practice.. believe me.. but we have a great drill writer. I think the opposite from you, i could barely hear the woodwinds!( i play clarinet). I appreciate your critique but the professional judges have West Orange winning by 0.8.

im from west orange high school in winter garden florida, i really liked your show. drumline did a very good job. as well as woodwinds. brass shouldve been a bit louder, im not if thats how its supposed to sound or if its just the brass, but anyways pit was really clean as well. Guard did an outstanding job. Nice work you guys.

@evetsp10 I am from Dr Phillips high school. First let me say AMAZING PERFORMANCE!!! Congrats on placing first!!! Your drill is very well written and very effectively executed. My school does not march nearly as well as you guys, but we still tear it up!! Honestly your music is awesome woodwinds and brass did pretty well, I do not agree with whoever this is right here lol. The only thing I would say is the percussion got to loud at times and bled out the band sound, but that is easy to fix =)

@Maxmizer55 Yes I know...we are known for picking "brassier" songs, and our brass section is much stronger then the woodwinds, probably because our brass is more dedicated...and I hope i didnt come off rude, I do congradulate you on winning!!!...It is an honor :)
