  • Agreed, Davey, Nigel, Dee...and don't forget Ray! THE Elton John Band!! They had a fabulous sound, just magic. Davey's playing really added a new dimension to the sound. I love how many things he threw in besides electric guitar...acoustic guitar, banjo and such...

  • This is great!

Davey never gets enough recognition for his years of loyalty to Elton. Same with Nigel Olsson and Dee Murray.

I really appreciate this video, PLEASE POST MORE!!!

    Cheers.

  • when you look up the word "musician" in the dictionary it's Davey Johnstone's picture.

  • I know Davey even though I haven't met him. He's my music teachers grans cousin

  • Awesome guitar player! He's one of my favourites.

  • Does anybody have a contact address or email to contact Davey ? I have a question of one of his guitars. Thank you

  • People forget how truly great and versatile this guy was / is. Davey and Dee Murray were just two of Elton's secret weapons back then.

  • Nice guy, good guitarist.

  • yes please the band doesnt get the attention focused too much on them

  • Davey, Al Stewart ,David Patton and Pilot are some of the finest from Scotland.

  • Davey Johnstone is a great guitarist!

  • First saw/heard of Davey when he was with Magna Carta in the early 1970s, when his playing truly made Chris Simpson's song "Lord of the Ages" VERY special. Chris wouldn't like me to say this, but the line up of the band for that period was amazing and, IMO, the best. It's just a great pity there was an acrimonious split; but all good things must come to an end, and it did!
