The 1956 Derby winner wins easily as a juvenile. In the old days, if there looked to be an easy winner, track cameramen would follow a close finish for place or show to help protect the betting public in case of a failure with the photo camera. Thankfully, photo technology is terrific nowadays and that practice is long gone.
Final time and margin of victory over 6 1/2 furlongs was 1:18 1/5 and 3 1/2 lengths, respectively.

  • @dbeater1 Needles was the victor here. I always state the winning horse in the descriptive tags of a video. He was a fine horse, with just over 600K in earnings.

    Take care.

  • @Nextannouncer You're welcome. I wish I knew the answer to that question. I'd love to be able to hear the calls, if they are available.

  • Man that's old ..who is the horse ..it's not Bold Ruler is it?

  • Cool stuff, thanks.

Just a question: Do you know why race calls from these old races usually aren't saved?
