After the Island, Jack marries Juliet out of obligation since she is carrying his child and Kate ends up with Sawyer. Several years down the line Jack and Juliet's son grows up and Kate and Sawyer get engaged. Both unhappy with their partners Kate and Jack start an affair. Kate doesn't want to marry Sawyer as she loves Jack, but Jack convinces her to keep their love a secret.
A month after Kate's marriage to Sawyer, the affair starts again and unfortunately disaster occurs whilst Jack makes his way home.
