  • Yeah, 4 fingers gets from my chin to my adam's apple, even if I pull my head back and tilt it down so my ears are behind my shoulders and my head is clearly pointed at the floor... I appreciate the advice that is clearly working for everyone else, though.

  • If your neck is longer than 4 fingers then you may need to do some stretching. If your shoulders are sloping, it is desired to raise them. If not you may not be allowing enough air into the lungs. Besides, it looks better to have shoulders within 2 inches of chin level. Lengthen the spine, free the neck. Balance the head a top the shoulders,ears above the shoulders. The sternocleidomastoids will help to pull up the clavicle and the sternum. With it, the chest will rise.
