Johnny is so damn versatile. If any other fans like his versatile abilities, check out a cd Johnny came out with in the 1990's called "LET ME IN". Its' by far the best cd he's cut for a long time. he even has dr. John on piano, and some of the best music I've heard him play in years. Well worth the investment. check out Medicine Man, If you've gotta good woman, and Life is Hard!!!! You'll love thisCD like I do, promise. Take Care...Huichol53.......

you shouldn't compare for example Jimi to SRV or J.W. because all of these great musicians gave us a special saund all are different and that were good in that what they do there was only one Hendrix and there will not be another one... There is one Johnny with his awsomnes and style and there not be another one...

my new fave Johnny vid!

Underrated not in my house and that is the only house that matters to me. JDW when God calls you back one day he will greet you and say ...well done my son as Jimi and Muddy brings him into the light. What a jam session that will be.

@micfkyoutoo If you allow me to correct that statement a little... Johnny Winter is the WHITE blues. Let's not go head over heels with the mans greatnes...

Johnny stayed close to the blues and got ever closer to the blues. His true passion.
I think Hendrix had Johnny beat in the creativity area tho..J.W's a great player with a great voice, my overall fav of all my fav's, but he really never wrote any outstanding great tunes. Some good tunes, ya, but Jimi....tune after great tune. Tho I do believe J.W. did play other's music better than even the original players did!
Jimi also wrote some really great, creative outstanding melodies and that's what sets him above and beyond all others. His cover songs even sounded like originals!

J.W. is the blues and he makes it seem so easy. He too good for the R&R hall of fame. They wouldn't know a great Blues player if it bit them in the ass> Johnny just plays and enjoys what he doe's from his heart and soul.
