Just 7 minutes of a 24 hour journey on The Sunlander, operated by Queensland Railways, from Towsnville to Brisbane. The sights, sounds and experiences, all there. Watch it - what have you got to lose? My thanks to young performers based in Sydney for their permission to use their audio. Goes well with the journey.

  • So was it worth taking the train? I'm not sure whether to get a plane to Cairns. Because the plane is alot quicker, but the train you'll see more of Australia. Also can you get on at Hervey bay instead of Brisbane??

  • @THURGOODa Travelled everywhere (almost) by train as the rest of my video clips will show. Took a lot longer, and warranted careful planning and scheduling to allow for journey and train times. But worth it; felt I had seen the real Australia as a result. Cannot recall stopping at Hervey Bay (and not even sure where it is). There are quite a few stops enroute Brisbane-Townsville-Cairns; if your stop is one of those, you should be OK. Enjoy.

  • At 2:48 OMG is that Adnan Sami's Song in the Background, Tera Chehra ? Do You like Indian Music ? :D

  • @jetairteam Yes it is. Am Indian, saw Adnan live in the UK a couple of years ago. He's even better live:-)

  • @RaatkiRaani57 I made it as far as Perth and Freeo, also Tassie. Had a great experience in Hobart when I asked a lady in a shop for directions to the city library. I had walked half a block along when she came running after me to tell me she had misspoken, and corrected her directions. That really impressed me! Had a similar experience in Sydney.

  • This is a cool video too. Never been on the Sunlander. How does it compare to the Tilt Train? I usually fly from Townsville to Mackay but wanted a different perspective on things :)

  • @RaatkiRaani57 Thank you very much for the reply!

  • @RaatkiRaani57 When I sailed from Melbourne to Tassie in 1988, it was on an overnight ferry. Had to pay also for an overnight state room, shared with strangers. I believe they were talking about having a hydrofoil so the trip could be done much faster. Huge waves on the way back made the return trip very interesting. Felt like the observation deck was going up and down 25 feet each way! Great view of Southern Cross, etc.

  • @bodryn Tasmania also had to be chopped from my plans and saved for a future trip. This exchange has whetted my appetite for a return. First need to earn the readies to turn dreams to reality:-)

  • Some hours ago I saw new video of the Rockhampton situation. They are calling it a flood of biblical proportions. I'm going to be checking on more news today. I spent a few days in Rocky in 1988. I liked the place. Really hate to see such damage.

  • @bodryn Touching on your comment on the scenery and what I say on the clip when passing through Bundaberg, the floods at present in Queensland, especially around Bundaberg and Rockhampton, put the showers when I was there seem insignificant. Hope all there at present are OK.
