First time I heard George sing this in concert, I got the impression that he harbors a secret desire to sing the blues on a regular basis. He sure tears the roof off with this song. He sings with so much depth and finesse. It as good as any blues in my humble opinion. Great pictures of George and The Ace In The Hole. Thanks for posting.

george does a fine job with this tune but , merle haggard did this tune with all the best western swing musicians that ever lived ( roy nichols ,Tiny moore,johnny gimble and eldon shamblin) george was not that lucky

ha! I'm glad to read a comment like this. It is definitely along the lines of what I was thinking when I made this almost 3 years ago. This song means a lot to me, I'm glad you've gained appreciation of it as well. Can't wait to read your book! ha :)

The only recording you can find it on I think is his Strait Out of the Box collection. It's pricey but so worth it! It's been my favorite of his for the longest!! If you haven't seen him in concert, you really should. The Ace in the Hole Band rocks!

It can also be found on this Chill of an Early Fall album, fyi.
That is definitely one of my favorite albums, and this song has a lot to do with it.
