The videos are part of a course on Love and Compassion, delivered by Dimitri Halley at the University of Aruba. In these videos the observation problem is presented in psychological terms of projection and Jungian psychology.

The course is called: Love, Compassion and Intimacy in Modern Society, Interpersonal Relations and Family.

Perfect balance, relationship, connection, empathy, agape love, love without conditions, and compassion all point to true love which is the oldest power which is known. Why do we fall out of love? At the highest level of development extreme love is felt. Yet all too often true love and compassion is confused and misunderstood. The module will develop an accurate understanding of love and compassion via a multidisciplinary perspective. This will be done by a comparative approach to Eastern and Western scientific and spiritual traditions and also more modern psycho-therapeutic and social traditions, and also art, poetry, music. The role of the ego versus compassion and love will be considered. Also will be elaborated on how social intervention policy and psycho-social care services can respond with compassion (as an intervention method) to clients and social problems on the different levels of society. Core-concepts to approach love and compassion will be consciousness, systemic, critical and paradoxical thinking. A paradoxical and critical understanding of love will be one of the main objectives of the module. The module offers a practical approach toward applying compassion and unconditional regard in modern societies, family and relations. Finally, the video elaborates on what it is that blocks us from the practice and experience of love, intimacy and compassion as care-givers, Institutions, individuals, families, groups and whole societies.

  • Big D! How many languages do you speak, brother? Just curious.

  • @mooseasaurusrex Dutch English Spanish Papiamento (google if u want)

  • What about the teacher looking at the student saying to her self this is an uneducated student. What about the student looking at the teacher with the intention of wanting to learn , and the student thinks hes smart. Would both preceptions cancel each other out? Would one over ride the other because one is more "truth" then the other? What about preception where lies are involved ?

  • @yourboycal great Q's. yes it amounts to a kind of psychological war, where one intention and expectation is over ruled by the other if permitted. the current battlefield is really the mind scape and at core regards intentions, beliefs, expectations and interpretations. at core it is really about who determines what we believe!

  • Seems more like one must not think of itself as being one.

But itself being absent from itself and thinking as though we are everything.

Strikes me again, much like meditation.

  • yes but we can't reach there with thinking

  • We are all interdependant, you are what you think you are..its all energy. If you are having a 'bad' day and feel like nothings going right shift your perspective to positive thoughts and actions...make someone laugh or feel better and then YOU will feel better instantaneously..thats interdependence via compassion. Nothing is permanent, apply that to any misfortunes or problems. yup this is real folks ;)

  • Is he saying that Objectivity is impossible? IF so how does he account for the success of inference with regard to experience?

  • I realise what he is saying, I'm just suprised that it took him 3 videos of inane garbling to say, 'You know what? It's all about perspective.' ...

  • Observation is the recognition of objects as they exist in the mind, whatever doesn't exist as a mental image can be seen but not registered because memory uses the same mental imaging principle.

  • what language does he speak? i hear dutch, portugese , italian ... ?

  • @daniela1771 Be still and know I Am God.

  • love it
