Climbed Mount Rainier on the Camp Muir Trail starting from Paradise Park with hiking friends and co-workers Frank, Dion and Virginia. It was another gorgeous, sunny day in Western Washington State.

  • Sunny - I like the sound of that! I was fortunate to see some on my hike up there. Hope to log a couple like you did. I'll send along a few switch backs in some future videos for you. Thanks for watching!

  • Beautiful hike... Another one to add to the list. Being from MN how much do you think the elevation would get to me? I imagine I would have to condition myself for the elevation somehow.

  • @eschwebach Actually, if you're conditioned to hiking and take it slow and easy you would do fine. You do notice the elevation gain but your body adjusts on the way up if you don't over exert yourself. St. Helens and Camp Muir are very similar hikes - but offer very different views. If you have a chance to do them, you won't be disappointed. You will experience an overwhelming sense of accomplishment, and a smile you'll wear for weeks : )

  • This video brings back good memories. I took my teenage son and some of his neighborhood friends on a couple of hikes to Camp Muir during the 1980's. I left Seattle in March of this year for sunny Florida, so now I am trying to get used to hiking flat terrain.

  • @kookiemoose Yes, it is the Wonderland Trail - hope to do it, or at least parts of it. Thanks my friend for your comment!

  • Wow, what a place. I've seen the mountain from afar a long time ago. I've been told that the trail that circles around the mountain is one of the best hikes on the globe. I think it's called the wonderland trail. Beautiful shots, a real pleasure to watch.
