Dolores del Rio, as Luana, with Joel McCrea in film "Bird of Paradise", where she falls in love with a visitor (McCrea), but she prefers to be sacrificed to the volcano god. Excellent film. Enjoy it =)

  • gosh she caught a whale haha

  • My mom named me after this Character..My name is Luana Dawn. I hated this name growing up but when I got older I accepted it. I am a nurse and my patients ask me all the time about my name and I have to explain this movie lol.

  • I love it - a 'native' girl with short quaffed hair and full make up!

  • Funny, in the 1951 remake with Debra Paget & Louis Jourdan, her name was Kalua.

  • Man, I love Joel McCrea.

  • This was pretty racy for 1932 with the bared navel and the see-thru top that makes her look topless. I guess the worst of the censorship started after this.

  • ¡Que gracia y que candorosa belleza de esta finísima diva!¡Gracias por este mágnifico video!

  • thank you for your compliment!! Luana is a quite common name in Italy (the country where i come from) and there's the male version as well, it's simply Luano (but it's less common, very rare)
