Constantina Tomescu talks about her Marathon Olympic Gold

Constantina Tomescu-Diṭă put the crown on her career with a decisive victory in the women's Olympic marathon in Beijing on Sunday 17th August 2008. At 38, the Romanian athlete, who has been sponsored by ASICS for seven years, is the oldest Olympic marathon winner in history.

In this interview she speaks with her husband/coach about her tactics during the race, her thoughts, and her feelings about the victory.

Importantly enough, she talks about how the ASICS shoes she ran the event in, meant she had no blistered feet to show to photographers!

WONDERFUL RACE !!! BRAVO CONSTANTINA !!! I watched you running from Ireland and I was so proud I am Romanian...everyone watched you ....but with the eyes of defeated people cause they lost (remember the 5000 metres race from O.G. in Australia 2000? when Gabriela Szabo defeated the Irish Sonia O' Sullivan ??? after almost 9 years they still haven't forgotten they were loosers and believe me they don't like and know to loose : bad loosers; CONGRATULATIONS , CONSTANTINA !!!
