How does Cherry embarass Canadians? He wasn't the only one to call Ovie out. I'm sure even his own coach called him on his acts. I'm sure when Gretzky scored 50 in 39 games, or his 92nd goal in the 81-82 season, there was no 'hot-stick' bullshit. There are ways to be excited in sports without being goofy and disrespectful. Hockey is slowly turning into basketball and soccer with all this nonsense. Hockey was much better in the 70's and 80's where players were good but also had and ounce of class

If you dont like Don Cherry then don't watch him. Maybe1 in10 Candiens understand where your coming from, if that. And your right people do disagree with you. @Bassman0Nate Ovie is a pretty proud guy based on his conduct in interviews and on the ice. He might have perceived it as just having a good time, but do you really think the best goal scorers there ever was (I'm thinkin' Orr, Lafleur, Richard, etc.) would do something as childish and stupid as this?
