Late February 25th and into the morning of the 26th Hampton beach was hit with a devastating fire. The fire destroyed 5 properties and damaged several others. In the video I mention the fire of 1999 which destroyed the Old Salt, I called it a hotel but meant to say a restaurant. This video was shot on March 1, 2010 and the after effects of the fire are clearly visible.

Thanks for posting and narration. I'll miss going to Mrs. Mitchell's this summer. Where was The Old Salt? What use to be where the new brick building down further is that hasn't been rented out the last few years?

@Smiley6669 The Old Salt was down the street a ways. It still stands as an empty lot which has a for sale sign on it.

this better not be the fucking arcade im from nj but this place is my life i crew up going here every summer in my childhood days please somebody tell me that this is not the arcade this is a nightmare i just woke up and put hampton beach to see it and this cant be true

I just this video and started to cry I am 42 yrs old and going to Hampton beach my whole life it is like a piece of me just died

I have been around the world and it was always nice to come home to yes it was old but it was always run by local people

I spent many hours in the arcade as a young boy on vacation with my grandparents. My grandmother used to be as excited as I was when we went to the arcade. This was one of two arcades at Hampton. You did a great job on the video, from what you decribed I knew exactly where you were.
