Underwater life is not as quiet as it used to be. Whales and dolphins are emitting sounds to communicate each other, and are also using surrounding sounds for localization or hunting. Obviously human activity, through maritime transports and underwater experiments strongly interfere with marine mammals daily life. Underwater acoustic observatories such as LIDO (Listening to the Deep Ocean environment) will provide extended data on underwater communication and man-made noise interferences
