Here's my long awaited Sony Vegas tutorial on how to edit and render in widescreen for youtube.

Video Settings for MP4
MainConcept AVC/AAC .mp4
Video rendering quality: Best
Frame size: 640 x 360
Profile: Main
Frame rate: 24
Field Order: None
Pixel aspect ratio: 1.0000
Number of reference frames: 2 & Use deblocking filter
Variable bit rate:
Maximum : 10,000,000
Average: 4,000,000
Sample rate: 48,000
bit rate: 128,000

Video Settings for WMV:
Video rendering quality: Best
Audio Mode: CBR
Format: Windows Media Audio (any version)
Attributes: 128 kbps, 44 kHz, stereo (A/V) CBR
Video Mode: Bit rate VBR (Peak)
Format: Windows Media Video (any version)
Image Size: 640 x 360
Pixel aspect ratio: 1.000 (Square)
Frame rate (fps): 24
Second per keyframe: 3
Average bit rate (bps): 1 M
Peak bit rate (bps): 2 M
Peak buffer size (sec): 20

  • Zero, how do you get a video widescreen and 480p for render wise?

  • @ZionKraze render in 848x480, the video width usually indicates the pixel quality

  • i use almost the same settings in my Vegas, r u using 8 or 9?

  • @TusbasaNoAMVPro i'm using pro 8.0a i tried pro 9 and it didn't really work with me

  • you should give the optional 480 settings in the crotchbar as well
