Preston, Lancashire, in 1969. Amateur cine film of St George's Shopping Centre three years after its construction, Preston Market, the Salvation Army Building and the Bus Station which was nearing completion.
3:11 - Look at Saul St Baths (Soul St ?) what a huge lego brick it was. That area around Lancaster Rd North looks quite charming and light & airy in this footage. The Court Building now lend an imposing shadow to the area with their high gates, Razor wire and CCTV
so cool takes me right back my nan was the manageress at thornton's toffee shop in st georges we use to pile in there at weekend for freebies

Thanks so much for sharing, fyldevideo. Remarkable film. It has prompted positive memories of family and close friends from my childhood in Preston.
