Many people forget or do not know that Italy used Poison Gas (mustard) to bomb Ethiopia. Tens of thousands of people were killed. So, the main reason Italy got the upper-hand in 1936 was because of its use of poison bomb. No one considers Japan a loser because the US dropped atomic bombs and destroyed two cities; no one considers Ethiopia a loser because Italy used illegal weapon (poison gas) to have short lived battle success either.

@wojeb I recently read a book which shows that the first battle of 1935 was actually won by Ethiopia led by Ras Kassa but because Haile Sellasie as a man of ETHICS believed that the league of nation would come to his rescue, SINCE THERE WAS An AGREEMENT THAT AN ATTACK ON ONE MEMBER WAS AN ATTACK ON ALL,he told Ras Kassa to refrain from further actions which would have driven Italians out of Ethiopia but the help from the league didnt come which gave Italy time to regroup and attack again
