2013-02-04 Xiao Liwu: NOT for the Faint of Heart ;)

7:15am Xiao Liwu is out in the North Exhibit and as usual the 1st thing he does is climb the tree. He seems to have a favorite limb ... the high one that he climbs first. Then he ventured to a new branch, this one has a tree guard on it. Xiao Liwu seemed determined to outwit it, trying 3 times to get through it. Then it was on to another new branch, this one just stops, with no place to play, but that didn't stop Xiao Liwu from doing a high balancing act.

Indeed he is a fiesty fellow..Xiao Diwu.. bad for my nerves though.LOL

He's so enterprising and willing to try any tree in his area. Its a good thing that guard was put there...anticipation seems to be the order of the day.

Everyone was wondering about the tree guard.Is it. protecting the tree or Wu?He certainly was curious about it..he was such a daredevil all day.he made me tired. Thank you so much you always answer the questions before we even ask.

The tree guard protects Xiao Liwu from climbing too high on that particular tree branch. And he was indeed very curious as he repeatedly went back to it. You're so very welcome ~ thank you for watching .... Doxie

Xiao Liwu is amazing .. he seems to have no fear of height or of the size of tree branches..he goes as high as he can, and seems very capable balancing himself on very slim branches. I can hardly breathe watching him sometimes. I think he is very bright, and just full of curiosity. He really is a little gem. We are so lucky to be able to watch him. Thanks Doxie for your videos.

I have to agree with everything you said. And it really is a joy to watch him in the Classroom/North Exhibit with the new HD cameras as everything is so clear. When he climbs that high, I just shake my head and smile, knowing this cub is in his element when he's issued a challenge, lol! ~ Doxie
