  • My understanding is that scientists have found that genetic effects are not seen until the dose is quite high (perhaps even with a threshold), whereas the SOMATIC (body cell) effects -- especially carcinogenesis -- are more severe than earlier estimated. That's why we see a steady progression of radiation limits being lowered through the years.

So that contradicts Karl Grossman's anecdote about TMI radiation causing Down's Syndrome. His analysis is generally correct, but he overstates his case.

  • @substanti8 Again! What studies are you refferencing? I have checked out Grossman's sources. They are all crap! He just blindly accepts the testimonies of disreputed frauds and charlitans like Dr. Steven Wing, Dr. Ernest Sternglass and Dr. John Gophman. Not all scientists or science experiments are created equal. That is why we have the scientific peer-review process to filter out bad information.

  • And my comments on radiation standards are supported by ICRP, BEIR, etc.

  • "disreputed"

No such word. If you want to be a journalist, then learn how to use the language.

    "charlitans"

You misspell words even when the YT spellchecker flags them.

    "like Dr. Steven Wing ..."

Your unfounded accusations indicate more about you than about these scientists. Wing's peer-reviewed research article on TMI is very good:
