Here we investigate what stage the mountain pine beetle is at in its life cycle. Mountain pine beetles are typically in the larva stage during the month of May, although there has been reported some early flyers, who are mature and do fly by May. Typically mountain pine beetles mature and fly to infect new trees during the month of July.
