SUNDAY BLOODY SUNDAY :
(seat on Adam`s side of stage)
Not a song i wanted to hear on this tour.Wanted it dropped from the set.Opening night in Barcelona i gave it its due as it still packs an emotional punch but still was not giving up on the thought that it was time for another heavy hItter to make the set list and shelve an old staple. Night 2 in Barcelona i sat in the seats, on Edge side, low level , to get a full on perspective of the stage. It was then that i was overcome with emotion. The uprising in Iran gripped me for some reason and i followed the news day in and day out. Being so close to the stage on the first night i missed much of the symbolism the stage set and design was offering ....the entire stage awash in green. The scrolling text in Farsi on the video screen. The visual imagery ...stills from the streets of Iran.....
More than 25 years on : Sunday Bloody Sunday was/is as relevant as it has ever been and it has turned into one of the more emotional parts of the show for me .
