CROWLEY — North Crowley scored twice in a three-minute span of the first quarter to take control of the game and beat Fort Worth Paschal 21-0 on Friday night.
Liquor Lockhart gave North Crowley (3-6, 3-1 District 3-5A) a 14-0 lead when he scored from 28 yards with 5:44 left in the first quarter.
The score came just three minutes after North Crowleys J.P. Coomer scored on a 1-yard quarterback sneak.
Lockhart had 11 carries for 61 yards and two touchdowns.
For Paschal (3-6, 0-5), junior running back Emmanuel Smith was a workhorse, finishing with 84 yards.
Smith had four runs that converted long third downs and kept North Crowleys defense on the field.
In the second quarter, Paschal had the ball for almost 10 minutes.
The defense stopped North Crowley on fourth-and-1 with 11:19 left.
Paschal chewed up more than seven minutes on the next drive, but the offense stalled and penalties stopped Paschal from converting a third down just inside the North Crowley 30-yard line. A missed field-goal attempt ended the long drive.
Paschal got the ball one more time in the second, but the drive ended with a punt.
With 5:45 left in the third, Robert Wilson of North Crowley sprinted past everyone on the field and was taken down by a shoestring tackle at the 1-yard line.
Lockhart followed up with a 1-yard dive for a touchdown.
It was the first time a team reached the red zone in the second half.
GO NORTH CROWLEYYY!!! :)
