@cameroncrazie818 No General Manager ever tells his team to lose on purpose. The Oilers, I think, are really just that bad -- they obviously have some promising young talent, but at present, they're one of, if not the only NHL team to have no stars on their roster. I envision them having another poor (or mediocre) 2011-2012 season, but they should be on the up and up after that and if they build properly, their success will last a long time.

If you want to see a GM who built a team from nothing look at Minnesota, Chicago (Tallon, not Bowman), there are examples of teams being built from virtually no assets. Any intelligent GM would sign them. As for Pronger, the market value for a top 2 defender is a First rounder, top 6 forward (lupul), and high end defensive prospect (smid).
