  • but she still was one of the best gymnast and at the 1994 and 1996 nastionals she took all the gold medals.... YESSS DAWES AKA BEST FLOOR ROUTINE UNDER HER BELT AT A YOUNG AGE

  • Dominique is bow-legged. It makes it difficult for to keep her legs together perfectly. It was also one of the reasons she never had perfect leg form during her competitive years.

  • A gymnastics legend she went to three Olympic games and medalled in every one she attended what a pro!!

  • 3 Olympic games....in my book a legend

  • I really wish there was video somewhere of Dawes's prelims FX. Chow and Maloney's FX routines during the TF's as well as Chow's AA FX routine. As a matter of fact, after the trials, none of Amy's FX routines were shown.

  • @JOKETEER - her form is very imperfect on those back handsprings, but the power and dynamism of that dismount sequence made it exciting to watch.

I think when she did her back handsprings on floor, she did a (much) better job of keeping her legs together. So it does make it a bit of a "mystery" as to why she did her back handsprings on beam w/ her legs so wide apart.

  • shes good

  • @lbn4lyfe shannon won the AA in 1996

  • For a female gymnast to be in 3 Olympics is an accomplishment in and of itself.

I remember thinking when I watched this back in 2000 how strange it was to see Dominique without her teammates - the ones from '96. I actually felt kind of sad about it, like they should've been there with her.

In a way I wished she didn't compete in this Olympics because I wanted the distinct memory of the magic she had in '96 to be the last gymnastics memory of her... not this, where she didn't really shine.

  • @htownhomie06 I think it was a bit different for Phelps and McCool because they hadnt had the level of experience Dawes had, esp by 2000. Not to mention, if 'Becky Thomas' had done the same routines of a Dawes or Miller in 00, she wouldnt have scored the same, so it re-emphasizes the fact that ur name and resume clearly matter in gymnastics.

  • @kwan4life

get a pussy, you daft bitch, then suffocate yourself with it

  • To all of the neg comments, we all knew Dom wasnt 96 Dom.,she was put on the team because she still had 10 starts (after only 4 months of training mind u, much credit to her 96 routines for needing very few upgrades) and to be a leader and a presence for the judges. U think Bogi was as competitive as her rep in 92, or 96? Hang it up! Phenom gymn, but very gifted by 1991. As much as many of us hate it, gymn is a ridiculously subjective sport w 2 many cooks in the judging/decision kitchen.
