Since the weather has been warm, I usually bring Milo and Trixie outside in a cage for their shower. Milo especially loves to get a bath with the spray bottle.
You will need a clean misting spray bottle with clean, warm water. Remove your bird's food dishes from the cage so the food doesn't get wet and spoil. Allow your bird to dry outside where it is warm. Have fun! :-)

  • If your birds like to ride your shoulder you might want to try stepping in the shower with them. My Senegal (smaller than a cockatiel) loved to do this. She used to go into a stance like an airplane pose about to take off and shake her whole body under the water. Then she'd jump on the neck of the shower spout and preen herself. That was my cue to bathe myself and finish up. :)

And of course you have to have a gentle water flow, not something too forceful.
