  • For short term mobile living a tent works but Most of them aren't designed to be lived in long term. You might want to look into debris shelters with a tarp for water proofing if you wanted to live out doors long term while being fairly stationary. They're much better when the weather turns cold

  • Tents are nice, but if all you have is a tarp and some tie downs you can make do. MANY years ago I lived in a tent on the beach in Alaska - came back from town one day and it had been shredded by a bear. So I made a makeshift shelter out of a plastic tarp and driftwood. Ended up being fairly quaint. Lived comfortably in it for the rest of that summer. People will be amazed at their ability to survive with very little... You just have to be put in the situation and use your common sense.

  • Ya know, for a crustacean you are pretty dang smart! Great advice! Now if we can just get people to take it. It is so tempting to spend that $50 or some new dvd's and a hamburger, but a little suffering now saves a lot of suffering in the future.

  • Good info.

Also a few water proof tarps will also come in handy. Cover equipment, add protection to the tent and/or use it as a tent. Cheap and take up little room.

  • i was gonna go outside but the wind was brutal

  • I feel special...lol ;) I will look into it craw"free"daddy...lol
