The only difference is that the SR-12 has a 120 GB hardrive, and the SR-11 has a 60 GB hardrive.

in Canada, its about 1100 to 1200 $CAN. There are no 'Spectacular' special effects, only high frame-rate recording, black and white, sephia, and i think thats it.

@DGizzle4life Yes the night vision come with it there is a button on the left side of the camera to turn on night vision...

@JoeyJr702 - it also has a 'pastel' effect (for groovy "flower power" look) & an effect called "Old time movie" (looks rustic like the 'sepia' choice, but also 'feathers' when the cam moves (like putting a slow running fan in front of it - to give that old ragtime/western film look. There are other special effects that you can do, but it is new to me too. surely worth it though. i bought mine used for 600. super lucky- super happy. i couldn't afford the 3,500.$ one, so this is the next best.

The sample is 480p and it is not representative. The camera gives wonderful quality at full HD. Adobe Premiere Elements 4...8 may be used for preparing small video-clips - all video formats are supported. You may check-up my samples (Sony HDR-12). The best way to watch the video clips from the camera without processing is to place the clips on a small HDD and watch all of them on TV via HD video player (ex WD HD TV player) like slideshow.

i edit my footage with adobe premiere pro cs3 but it doesn't recognize the HD video format sony puts it in so i had to burn my footage to dvds then rip the footage from the dvds to put the video in any format i want , and the video still looks very clear...i wish it was an easier way to edit with the software i have but this will have to do for now

I have the same camera but when I uploaded the video in youtube it's without quality and blurry, would you please tell me what kind of compression are you using? Your video it/s perfect. Please see some samples in my channel. Thanks a lot for your help.

the sr12 has 120gigs an the sr11 has exactley half of that...unless your not guna transport your pics an vids later you shoud be ok with the 60gig
