It was a 7 gill cow shark also know as Notorynchus cepedianus. In the SF bay they prefer to eat other sharks, rays, fish, seals, and carrion. the larger ones are more commonly caught around the bay bridge but they can be found in most of the SF bay. They prefer higher salt content for feeding grounds but use the south bay near the Dumbarton bridge as a breeding ground.

thats a small seven gill. ive caught hundreds of them. they get up to !3 feet.
