I took JAL from KL to Narita this year and this is an example of Katakana English. Hard to pick up in some parts. Does anyone know what she said in the first 10 seconds?

  • KL to Narita? :D

  • ...switched off. Those passengers seated at exit doors will be asked to assist crew members in the event of any emergency. Please refer to our safety instructions leaflet in your seat pocket.

  • Your pilot is captain Tabiya and my name is Kamiyawa, your senior cabin attendant on this flight.

we're now ready for departure, please fasten your seat belt tight and low around your waist

Our expected flight time to Narita is 6+45. According to the latest weather information we may have some turbulence during our ascent and descent. May we remind you that it is against the law to smoke in the restroom and the use of electronic or other devices....

  • LOL... yeah... a dialect of English :)

  • Katakana is almost like a different language.. :)

  • Hehe ... I'm kind of used to "katakana-english" and I roughly know what they say each time before the flight...

  • Holy shit, you have amazing ears. How in the hell did you understand that. I'm impressed.

  • First 10 seconds: "Your pilot is captain Tabiya(?)and my name is Kamiyawa(?) your senior cabin attendant on this flight."
