GMO: Are we playing God?

We've been "playing god" for centuries with selective breeding (artificial selection). Now we've found a way to make that artificial selection less hit and miss. Yeah there will be problems, but there are always problems with new technology facilitating old ideas. We should let caution steady our progress, not let fear-mongering halt progress completely.

The problem is with corporate UNtested gmo 'foods' being FORCED upon 99.99% all people by willfully witholding unbiased scientific information AND with their constant deceit upon the people.
Wouldn't these problems disappear, esp. in Africa where THEIR resouces/abilities to become self suficient AREN'T STOLEN by these very same psychopaths in charge?
All...(esp.)...western criminal 'leadership' must be permanently dismantled.
It can only be done with a WELL EDUCATED and INFORMED PUBLIC.

@1PintLasher i understand your point, but i would modify it.playing god can be a good thing, but can also be a bad thing if not done responsibly, hence we must as you say be vigilant in observing effects on nature and humans, and we must also be wary of the credibility of the source of those observations.i simply do not trust huge corporations whose only motive is profit to police themselves, which according to the info i've seen,is what the fda and dept.of ag. has done.so i only think it can be good

@mebe84 Point taken mebe84 but also what I'm saying is playing god is a good thing. But you are right just the same as davidsfriend01 is right... The only thing we have to keep an eye on is nature. Coral reefs, Amur leopards and even whales could be something your children learn about in history books and that's the only thing that saddens me. But hey Permian-Triassic happened and it all bounced back. So I guess all will be well as far as Earth and Life are concerned.

Rich white people? Get real. Not every white is rich and there are millions of wealthy non-white people in N America alone.

@C0nc0rdance I would say that more than good will GMO are a good business, if it is not ask Monsanto to give up patents, that crap is leading to a food production monopoly.

@C0nc0rdance poison is still poison no matter how little

Awful video. This information is NOT accurate. Either you're on GMO payroll or you are not as smart as you think you are. Obviously, starvation is a problem but I do not think feeding them toxic food is a solution. A generously passive way of reducing the global population by 80%?.
-
i actually think that the problem is food distribution.. the food supply is sufficient but not distributed properly.. because the poor peoples can't buy food for themselves..

The problem is that most of the problems that GMOs "solve" aren't actually problems. They are obsessive control issues that "natural" farmers seldom have in any real affect.

After suffering through 2 of your videos, my head is spinning with how many ways to say what an idiot you are.
In 2011, Cry1Ab, a type of Bt toxin from GM crops, has for the first time been detected in human and fetal blood samples. It appears the toxin is quite prevalent, as upon testing 69 pregnant and non-pregnant women who were eating a typical Canadian diet (which included foods such as GM soy, corn and potatoes), researchers found Bt toxin in:
•93 percent of blood samples of pregnant women
•80 percent of fetal blood samples
•69 percent of non-pregnant women blood samples

Please cite your sources. I can claim "Bigfoot (Sasquatch) has been found in British Parliament, 22% of MPs voted for ousting, 55% support his legitimacy, a coalition has formed to support his candidacy for PM" Only a well-sourced fact is worth reviewing.
Cry toxin is only toxic to insects. It's a bacterial insecticidal protein in use since 1938, it's quite likely that most people in the US have ingested some today without any consequence.
