The pad used to float right on the water. Bob Golden would come hurtling in with his 500C and literally just dump the ship onto the pad. Anyone who saw him do it knew that Bobby was the best pilot around. He was a Darkhorse pilot in the Nam. Oh yeah, and he did all the Experimental Test Pilot work on both the R-22 and the R-44 for Frank Robinson. He was the chief pilot at ALEXAIR Torrance and Hawaii, and on weekends he liked to fool around in the channel at Ports O Call in LA Harbor. STUD!

That is a R44 Clipper II right? Since it had the emergency floats? I got to fly one not to long ago, best experience ever!
