perfectly cynical
-
i really liked it, i thought it matched it really good, but i think it would have been cool if he time he killed a kid one disapeared each time, and his wife too, but besides that i loved it, awesome job
-
i dont think it really captures the essence of the song yet, it was fairly good

this is true of st martins students....psuedo intellectual and up their own arses

I see a bunch of adults who are apathetic about the experiences of their offspring. While that isn't the heart of whats going on during The Rake's Song, its still related.

I have to agree with ProjectCobalt.
To me, this video does not capture the intense emotion present in the song and the rest of the album. It is a little creepy, but it doesn't tell a story. However, it's possible that it just doesn't measure up to the imaginations of the consumers who love the album and the song.
The video is well done, but I think the style would have been better paired with another song.

I honestly don't see how you can say it doesn't fit with the song. It held many references to the story in allegorical/not-so obvious ways, from the chicken body dropping out babies, to the frantic shadow puppets presenting the rake and his children, to all the visual references to children, and the hurting of children, like boiling the doll in the goblet. Sure it's not the prettiest thing to watch, but it made sense to me. O_o;
