Formula Hybrid Competition 2010 - Day 1

This is day 1 of the 2010 Formula Hybrid Competition.
Organizing by Thayer School of Engineering along with Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) professional societies, the competition is in its fourth year.
This year, a total of 38 have registered for the competition. On day one, there were 19 teams packed into the New Hampshire Speedway garages and have started mechanical and electrical tech inspections. The inspections ensure that the safety, rules and regulations are followed by one and every team. It is also an essential component of what a Formula competition is.
The Illinois Institute of Technology is back for the fourth time and is competing with the number 31 Hammerhawk car. The four wheel regen breaking, series hybrid racing car can pack a punch!
The car has a 200cc TKM K4S engine with 17.5 horsepower. Additional power comes from a Perm-motor PMG-132 & PMS-152 electric motors. The total added power output totals to about 70kW (i.e., roughly 92.5 horsepower.)
